Barcelona hijack Tottenham deal to sign Adama Traore on loan
Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte have been given a major blow in their pursuits for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ forward Adama Traore as Barcelona have managed to swoop in and bring the Spanish player back to the Camp Nou. They have signed Adama Traore on loan until the end of the season and have an option to buy him in the summer for €30 Million plus add ons. Tottenham’s managing director Fabio Paratici was interested in Adama for a long time and was confident to make him a Tottenham player until the Spanish side decided to hijack the deal.
Antonio Conte had made it very clear to the Tottenham board that he needed new recruitments to strengthen his side. But with 4 days left on the transfer market, the club has not even made a single signing so far which could spell trouble for the club and Conte as well. They have already planned to let either Tanguy Ndombele or Dele Alli leave the club in this window to allow space for the new recruits. Adama was ready for a move to the London club but due to the club’s inability to close the deal as soon as possible and the emergence of his boyhood club, he had a clear decision for him.
The deal is expected to be completed today as Adama will travel to his home country for final formalities. Traore earlier joined Barcelona as a boy and made his way to the first team in 2013 after playing in the B team as well. Later on, after just 4 appearances for the club, he decided to go to Aston Villa in 2015. His amazing pace and physicality can be lethal for the defences on any given day. The 26-year old can play both as a winger and a wing-back.
