Speaking to Sports Trumpet, Mr Mukesh Sharma said “We have partnered with PGTI to provide a platform to professional golfers and their school students. He also hopes that the younger generation can follow the professional golfers and take up golf as a sport and make a career out of it.”
“We want to be able to create players who can represent India at the global stage, like Mr Udayan Mane. I believe that as a school, when we partner with PGTI, there is a clear message that we intend to send out to our students, parents. There is a lot that can be done if you show to the children that there is a professional career that they can make, if they decide to focus on one particular sport.”

“The problem in India is that parents do not encourage their young ones to follow a sport their passionate about. Instead, they give more importance to education and as a result the child gets deviated from what they’re good at,” added Mr Sharma.
Mr. Mukesh Sharma then spoke about how the mindset is different at Prometheus school.
“At Prometheus school, we encourage our students to follow their passion and become a professional sportsperson.”
Prometheus school promotes other sports as well.
“At Prometheus, we have world class infrastructure that will aid in the development of the child. We have infrastructure for a variety of sports. From an indoor swimming pool to 6 badminton courts to a 10 m shooting range to table tennis academies. Students can also play football, basketball and lawn tennis here,” Mr Sharma mentioned.
As we know, many fans were raging after a Hero of the match in the Hero IWL season was awarded a small amount of INR 5,000. Mr. Sharma also commented on this.
“This is where the private organizations need to come forward and support the sport. Why is there a discrimination in the prize reward in women’s cricket, when compared to men’s cricket? Why should one sport get all the popularity?” questioned Mr Sharma.

“Cricket is not an Olympic sport. Why can’t we as fans support and focus on sports that are being played at the Olympics. The sports that bring medals and pride to our nation. We as a country are second largest in terms of population. We deserve to be in the top 3, if not the top 10. Where are we today? Nowhere close to the top nations.”
“The potential is there, it’s up to the H and I’s, the private organizations and schools to come together and provide the required environment and support to the children. It’s not the governments duty to create opportunities through Khelo India.” said Mr Sharma.
He also mentioned where the tournament is to be telecasted.
“The tournament will be broadcasted on Phando an OTT- streaming platform, a PGTI app. It will also be shown on ABP news.”
At Prometheus, sports and education go in tandem. Our vision is to create entrepreneurs who will give back to the society – who will become job givers than job seekers. Our IB curriculum allows students to excel at learning through innovative pedagogies and develop qualities of international mindedness, enhanced collaboration and innovation.
