India Beat Pakistan In Hockey Championship

India defeated Pakistan 3-1 in their third-round stage game with Harmanpreet Singh restoring two penalty corners shorts on either side of a field goal from Akashdeep Singh. Junaid Manzoor drew a goal back for Pakistan in the third quarter.

Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists team India moved forward hosts Bangladesh 9-0 in their last meeting. Dilpreet Singh achieved a sharp hat-trick while Jarmanpreet Singh also knocked a heroic goal from penalty corners.

Lalit Upadhayay, Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Mor also scored. India was carried a disappointing as they received a draw 2-2 by Korea in their first tournament match. India tops the table with 7 points from 3 games.

Seven points will be more than sufficient for three-time champions India to go ahead with the semis in the five-team tournament. South Korea and Japan are presently second and third separately with two points each from two draws. Hosts Bangladesh is fifth with one defeat. Malaysia pulled out of the tournament.
