Bangladeshi team registered their maiden win in the ICC Women’s One Day World Cup after beating Pakistan by nine runs on Monday. Chasing 235 runs to win, Amin gave Pakistan a quick start and after sharing 91 runs with Nahida Khan for the first wicket, he also shared a 64 run partnership with Bismah Maroof.
With Amin’s brilliant batting, the Pakistani team was moving towards the target and they scored 183 runs for two wickets. But Fahima Khatoon quickly changed the course of the match by taking three wickets. Pakistan lost the wickets of five of their batsmen within just five runs and their score was 188 for seven. After this, the entire team could score only 225 runs for nine wickets.
Khatoon picked up the wickets of Omema Sohail, Aaliya Riaz, and Fatima Sana while Rumana Ahmed dismissed Nida Dar after which century-scorer Amin was run out and Pakistan’s hopes also ended.
Bangladesh, playing in the Women’s World Cup for the first time, had lost to South Africa and New Zealand in their first two matches, while Pakistan suffered a fourth defeat in their fourth match. Also, this is Pakistan’s 18th consecutive defeat in the Women’s World Cup.
