West Indies beat England by 17 runs to win the T20 series.
In an ongoing 5 match, T20 series West Indies and England played four matches against each other. Till now West Indies and England both won two games each. The series is levelled now at 2-2. As we head into the decider game of the T20 series.
In the 5th T20 match at Kensington, Barbados. West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. West Indies got a fast start but were losing wickets at regular intervals. While Kieron Pollard scored 41 runs from 25 balls and Rovman Powell scored 35 runs from 17 balls and remained not out as they shared a partnership of 74 runs for the fifth wicket. They posted a total of 179 runs.
In reply, England lost their first wicket at 8 runs in form of Jason Roy. Akeal Hosein took the wicket of Jason Roy. James Vince scored 55 runs from 35 balls. James Vince gave some hope to England as they were still in the game. Akeal Hosein made the damage to England as he took 4 wickets and gave 30 runs.
Defending 20 runs in the last over Jason Holder started the final over of the match. Jason Holder picked 4 wickets in 4 balls and gave 2 runs. He got the wickets of Sam Billings, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, and Saqib Mahmood. Jason Holder also became the first West Indies bowler to take a hat-trick in T20. In addition, Holder became only the fourth T20I bowler to take 4 wickets in as many balls. Rashid Khan of Afghanistan, Curtis Campher of Ireland, and Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka are the only others to take four wickets in four balls in a T20 international.
England was all out at a score of 162 as West Indies beat England by 17 runs. West Indies won the five-match T20 series by 3-2.
West Indies will travel to India for three-match ODI and T20 series which will start from 6th Feb 2022.
