Sri Lanka beat Pakistan to lift the Asia Cup 2022
Sri Lanka have beaten all odds to LIFT THE ASIA CUP, 2022.
All the players have contributed in a magnificent heist that Sri Lanka have managed to pull off.
They have beaten each and every team in the tournament, including the favourites India and Pakistan.
Coming to the match, after a horrific start where Sri Lanka were reduced to 67/5 after 10 overs, the Lankans managed to post a very competitive total on the board, courtesy a stunning performance from Rajapaksa, who was ably supported by Hasaranga.
With 170 to defend, Madhushanka gave away 11 runs before registering a legal first delivery.
But, fellow pacer Pramod Madushan grabbed the headlines as he dismissed Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman off consecutive deliveries. He went on to pick up 4 wickets! Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed built a steady partnership but it was the 1 crucial over by Wanindu Hasaranga, that helped Sri Lanka lift the trophy.
Hasaranga, Pramod and Rajapaksa were the main men this time around but a word of appreciation for the fielding on display by the Lankans today.
At the end, it is Dasun Shanaka and his team that will lift the ASIA CUP.
Sri Lankan spinners were at the top of their mark as together, they dismissed 7 Pakistani batsman for 60 runs in their 12 overs.
Pakistan were bundled out for 121 inside their 20 overs.
Pathum Nissanka scored a crucial 55*(48) as Sri Lanka won the match comfortably, chasing down the total in 17 overs with 5 wickets to spare.
