Sporting Fraternity Lauded Max Verstappen
The sporting fraternity praised Max Verstappen for triumphing the World Championship for the first time. In one of the most surprising sporting points of the season, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen succeeded in the 2021 F1 World Championship in a striking finale in Abu Dhabi. The Dutchman finished ahead and surpassed the seven-time World Champion on the last lap of the season to lift the trophy for the first time in his career.
Lewis Hamilton, who began behind Verstappen, surpassed the Red Bull driver in the starting lap and kept it until the ending sets off the race. Yet, Hamilton’s odds of completing at the top bore a vitality after the safety car reached out with six laps still to go.
The period of effort left Verstappen and Hamilton in a neck-to-neck place and the race began in the last 58th lap. Verstappen took advantage of the same and surpassed the British Man in the final lap to complete the race in an outstanding style.
India ODI and T20I skipper Rohit Sharma were shocked with how the final turned out and how it was so dramatic in the last stage In his tweet he connected the dramatic final with cricket, before defining Verstappen’s victory as “unbelievable”.
Bayern Munich’s superstar footballer Robert Lewandowski also responded to the race and tweeted, “Congratulations Max Verstappen. Incredible finish, Amazing Season, World Champion! Lewis Hamilton Great Performance.”
The ‘God of Cricket’ Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar hailed both Verstappen and Hamilton for their strive through the period of the season. “What a race! Congrats to Max for becoming the World Champion for the 1st time & there will be many more. However, my heart goes out to Lewis. What a season he’s had too. If not for the safety car, the trophy would’ve been his. Sheer bad luck. All the best for the next season,” said Tendulkar.
