IPL 2025: Mohammad Kaif Suggests Rohit Sharma as RCB Captain
Shreyas Iyer is expected to be the most expensive Indian player in the auction, according to Aakash Chopra.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is expected to begin on March 27. There are two new teams in the tournament. Now IPL 2022 will feature 10 teams. With the addition of the two franchises, the tournament will have 74 matches. 10 teams will start a bidding war for favourite players.
The mega auction for IPL 2022 will take place on 12th and 13th February in Bangalore. Over 1,214 players 896 Indian and 318 overseas players have been registered for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Before the mega auction of the IPL 2022, BCCI has announced a complete list of players. IPL 2022 auction over 1214 players have been registered out of which 590 players will be going under the harmer during the auction. A total of 370 Indian players and 220 overseas.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra said that Shreyas Iyer can be the most expensive player in the IPL 2022 mega auction. In the 2015 IPL auction Shreyas Iyer was picked by Delhi for Rs 2.6 Cr. This made him the highest uncapped player in 2015. In 2018 he was announced as the new captain of the team. He became the youngest captain to lead in IPL. In 2020 Shreyas Iyer led Delhi capitals to their first IPL final. But they lost to Mumbai Indians. He was initially ruled out of the tournament last season due to an injury before the first leg, but he recovered for the second leg and returned to the team. Despite Iyer’s return, the Delhi Capitals decided to stick with Rishabh Pant as captain.
Former Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer is headed to the IPL 2022 mega auction. The Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) will have a new captain for the 15th season of the IPL. Virat Kohli has stepped down as RCB captain. Royal Challengers Banglore are in search of a new captain. As Iyer has headed in the mega auction he could be the candidate to replace Kohli. This is seen as an opportunity for Iyer. He is on the radar of both Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are interested in signing him.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Pat Cummins, Quinton de Kock, Shikhar Dhawan, Faf du Plessis, Iyer, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Shami, and David Warner are the players who are enlisted in the marquee set of the upcoming 2022 IPL mega auction. In addition to Rabada, de Kock, and Warner, Chopra said that Rabada will be the most expensive overseas player from the marquee list upon auction.
