Shafali Verma regains NO.1 spot in Women’s T20 ranking. She overtakes Australian Beth Monney who was ruled out of the women’s T20 series against England due to an injury.
Following their outstanding performances in the first match of the three-match home series against England in Adelaide. The partnership between them was 144 runs unbeaten.
Australia captain Meg Lanning and all-rounder Tahlia McGrath are advancing in the ICC Women’s T20i player rankings. Meg Lanning’s scored 64 runs from 44 balls helped her to overtake India’s Smriti Mandhana to third place. Smriti Mandhana has slipped to the fourth spot. McGrath comes in 28th position.
Shafali Verma who achieved the top position for the first time during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, is now two rating points ahead of Mooney at 726.
England’s women team captain Heather Knight is in the top 20. While her teammates Daani Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont have also moved up.
Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has gained six places to eighth after accumulating 221 runs in the five-team ICC Commonwealth Games Qualifier 2022 just concluded in Kuala Lumpur. Murshida Khatun of Bangladesh has moved up 35 positions to 48th after scoring 126 runs. Athapaththu, who was named Player of the Series in the Kuala Lumpur tournament, in which Bangladesh, Scotland, Kenya, and hosts Malaysia also participated, has moved up four places to 52nd in the bowlers’ rankings. As well, Athapaththu moved up one place to rank seventh among all-rounders in the list led by New Zealand’s Sophie Devine.
The top three spots in ICC Women’s bowler rankings remained unchanged. England’s Sophie Eccleston and Sarah Glenn occupy the top two spots. While the third spot remains with Shabnim Isnmail from South Africa. While Deepti Sharma gained the fourth position in the ranking.
Sophie Devine and Natalie Sciver both remained at the top of the ICC Women’s T20 all-rounder rankings. While Indian women’s allrounder Deepti Sharma moved to third place. Pakistan women’s all-rounder is in the 9th spot. While Ellyse Perry of Australia dropped to 11th spot.
