Rafael Nadal reaches the Indian Wells final
The king of clay Rafael Nadal has reached yet another final in the Indian Wells Masters and will be taking on USA’s Taylor Fritz.
Rafael Nadal has no one stopping him as of now as the Spaniard continues his rich vein of form and qualifies for the final of the Indian Wells Masters. The 21 time Grand Slam champion defeated compatriot Carlos Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in a thrilling semifinal that lasted for three hours and 12 minutes.
Nadal managed to win the opening set but his opponent Alcaraz managed to fight back and win a grueling second set where the windy conditions made it even more difficult to perform proper shots and affected the players’ rhythm. The King of Clay, however, made the decisive break in the third set and bagged it 6-3 to record his 20th consecutive win in a row.

“I am super happy to be in the final. It means a lot to me, and I’ll just keep going. I took it like another semi-final match. He’s not a young player that is 100 in the world and is coming. He is a top player already, so I treated it like that, playing against one of the best players in the world. It doesn’t matter if he’s young or not, he’s a great guy, an amazing player and he has a fantastic future. I treated it like this, just tried to go on court, try my best and accept all the challenges. I am through and it was a very important victory for me.”
Nadal said in his on-court interview
Nadal won’t be having it easy in the final as on the other side of the court, will be 20th seed Taylor Fritz, who has already stunned seventh seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets, and in the process managed to break the Russian player’s 13-match winning streak as well.
