Pele – “The Greatest” Footballer : Former Brazilian football player had specialized as a forward. He was among the most prosperous and well-liked sports celebrities of the 20th century.
He is widely considered as one of the all-time great players and was given the FIFA title of “the greatest.” He was named the International Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Century in 1999, and Time named him one of the 100 most influential individuals of the 20th century.
Health Updates : He, an 82-year-old hero who is undergoing treatment for a colon tumour, has been receiving regular chemotherapy since being given the all-clear from colon cancer last year.
According to a social media post by his daughter, family members spent Christmas morning with the Legend on Sunday at the Sao Paulo hospital where the iconic footballer is battling deteriorating cancer as well as kidney and heart issues.

The Beautiful Game:
Nike ran a commercial in 1996 featuring athletes like Ronaldo and Luis Figo who were fighting to preserve “the beautiful game.” The words also appeared in K’naan’s World Cup 2010 anthem, “give me freedom, give me fire.”
The phrase was most likely initially uttered by English commentator H.E. Bates in The Sunday Times in 1952, and since Pelé made his international debut, it has come to be associated with him.
Throughout his career, the three terms were frequently used to describe him. His memoirs even held the title My Life and the Beautiful Game.
The Big Achievements:
Pele, one of the greatest football players ever, helped Brazil win three World Cups in 1958, 1962, and 1970. With 77 goals in 92 appearances, he continues to be the leading goal scorer in Brazil. In the first of these, he won both the Best Young Player and the Silver Ball. In the third, the Golden Ball.
How was he Honored?
16 years after winning the FIFA Order of Merit, FIFA awarded him the Player of the Century in 2000. Pele also received the Ballon d’Or Prix d’Honneur in 2013.
Fans still consider him the “The Greatest” of all times.
