PCB’s new Announcements : The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has named Shahid Afridi, who was the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team as their interim chief selector of the Men’s Team.
Other eminent people who have been chosen as the members of the selection panel are as follows:
- Abdul Razzaq – He was a former cricket player from Pakistan who participated in all game formats. He entered international cricket in 1996 as a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler.
He participated in the Pakistan Cricket Team that captured the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. He took part in 46 Tests and 265 ODIs. - Rao Ifthikar – Rao Iftikhar Anjum played in all three cricket formats and was a staple of Pakistan’s bowling lineup over several seasons.Before being promoted to the Pakistani national squad, he had taken more than 200 wickets in Pakistani cricket matches, including ten in the 2004 Patron’s Trophy Final.
The Previous comitee that was headed by Mohammad Wasim is being dissolved by the new chairman of the committee – Mr. Najam Sethi.
After a mutual agreement between the PCB and NZC, a decision was taken about New Zealand Series where Paksitan will take on NZ in the opening Test beginning today.
Due to the adverse weather conditions in the Punjab Province the Pakistan Committee was being forced to reschedule the fixtures for the matches from the New Zealand tour of Pakistan series that will be held at Karachi.
As the weather is said to be foggy and also due to the disrupted flight operations from Multan the Cricket committee is said to have derived at this decision.
The Committee has scheduled the three match ODI series after the two Test series in Karachi. The first Test is scheduled in Karachi and the second is said to be hosted at Multan.
