Mohammad Yousuf Resigns as Pakistan Cricket Selector
Former Pakistan cricket captain Mohammad Yousuf resigned as a national selector on Sunday, citing personal reasons. Yousuf, who has been involved with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in various capacities since last year, was a vital member of the broad-based national selection committee, which included former Test players, head coaches, and analysts.
In a statement shared on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Yousuf wrote, “I am stepping down from my role as a selector for the Pakistan cricket team due to personal reasons. It has been an incredible honor to serve this remarkable team, and I am proud to have contributed to the growth and success of Pakistan Cricket.”
However, a source close to the former cricketer revealed that Yousuf was reportedly unhappy with the criticism directed at him within the PCB. His decision to step down comes amidst growing scrutiny of selectors and team management.
