India T20I Squad: SKY Leads, Varun Returns, New Faces Debut
India has revealed its squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, with Suryakumar Yadav returning as captain. The squad features exciting maiden call-ups for Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, and Mayank Yadav. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy also makes a much-anticipated comeback, having last represented India in the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE. The series will see India play three T20Is at Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad with a fresh-look squad.
Regular Test players like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, and Axar Patel have been rested to focus on the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy in November 2024. Jitesh Sharma also returns, having last played a T20I in January 2024.
