On Thursday February 24th, MCA Apex Council has approved to honor Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma. According to a member of the MCA Apex Council, who spoke to PTI about the decision: “At today’s meeting of the Apex Council. Angkrish Raghuvanshi will receive a cash incentive of Rs 100,000 and a special memento from the MCA, the Apex Council member stated.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, 16, was a member of the successful Indian Under-19 squad at the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.
Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Prithvi Shaw, and Shreyas Iyer, as well as Sarfaraz Khan, are among the Mumbai-based Indian players who will be honored at the event, which will take place before the start of the 2022 IPL.
On Saturday, February 19, the BCCI announced that Rohit has been named Team India’s Test captain, with the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka serving as his maiden assignment. Meanwhile, the recently finished One-Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies in Ahmedabad was his maiden ODI series as full-time leader. Rohit played a key role in India’s 3-0 victories over the Kiwis and Men in Maroon.
