Jaydev Unadkat misses India vs Bangladesh 1st Test

Jaydev Unadkat misses India vs Bangladesh 1st Test : Left-handed pacer Jaydev Unadkat, who was late added to the Test team, has missed the series opener in Chattogram due to visa complications during India’s trip of Bangladesh.

Journey of Jaydev:

The first game of the series began today, December 14, although the captain of Saurashtra has not yet arrived in Bangladesh.

After 12 years, Jaydev has been called to the Indian team for the Bangladesh test series.

After Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami sustained injuries, Jaydev Unadkat was brought in to fill their shoes. He is still awaiting his immigration paperwork.

Behind Australia, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, India is now fourth in the WTC rankings. The only method for ensuring a spot in the final in June is to easily win both of the Tests against Bangladesh and then all four of the matches at home against Pat Cummins’ Australia.

Unadkat received compensation for his dependable work in the domestic circuit, where he has taken 353 wickets in 96 games. In the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy season,he set a new record by taking a total of 67 wickets, helping Saurashtra win their first championship.

Playing XI of 14th Dec:

K.L. Rahul led team plays today against Bangladesh with the following,

Shubman Gill, KL Rahul(Captain), Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(Wicket Keeper), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj

It is not the first time a player has been unable to participate in a tour. Umran Malik and Kuldeep Sen could not accompany the team to Australia in October because their visas weren’t received in time.

On December 22 in Dhaka, the second Test of the two-game series will begin.
