Jasprit Bumrah Named Vice-Captain For ODI
The Indian ODI team for the South Africa tour was announced on Friday. The BCCI has appointed fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has been reigning with his bowling for the previous few years, as the vice-captain on this tour.
The Indian cricket team has to encounter South Africa in a three-match ODI series from January 19. Like the Test series, senior opener Rohit Sharma has also been ruled out of the ODI series due to his injury. In his missing KL Rahul was designated as the new captain of the team. At the same time, in this series, the group got a new captain as well as a new vice-captain.
Rohit was announced as the ODI captain of India. Rohit was replaced by Priyank Panchal. Rohit worked hard to be back on the field, fit before the ODI series. The Limited over captain also underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, but the selectors did not want to hurry.
Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel have not been selected for the ODI series against South Africa. Both of them have not achieved fitness yet. The first ODI against South Africa is to be played on 19 January, the second 21, and the third on 23 January.
