Women’s Auction to Feature 350 Players as Exclusive Women’s League
IPL 2023 Auction: Aakash Chopra’s Prediction
IPL 2023 Auction : The Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi will host the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction on Friday (December 23). To fill the 87 slots available in the 10 franchises, a total of 405 cricket players will be put to the sword.
In the forthcoming IPL 2023 auction, former cricketer Aakash Chopra anticipates Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad to be in the running for Mayank Agarwal. Agarwal might be sold for between 8 and 10 crores, according to Chopra.
Agarwal led the Punjab Kings as captain the previous season, but his batting performance in the IPL 2022 was dismal. After the team’s sixth-place performance in the standings, they made the decision to cut the Karnataka batter from the team.
Agarwal, who is now searching for a new residence, has entered the auction with a starting price of two crores. According to Sportskeeda, Chopra stated on his YouTube channel that the Titans and the Sunrisers may be interested in Agarwal.
The one issue, according to the former cricketer, that might go against the Karnataka batter is that Gujarat Titans might be interested in putting him with Shubman Gill up the order even though most clubs don’t now require an opener or top-order batting.
Akash Chopra said,
“I have kept Mayank Agarwal in fifth place on this list. The only thing that could go against him is that most teams don’t want an opener or a top-order batter. Gujarat Titans might be interested in him. They do have Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha, but if they get Agarwal to open with Gill, then wow,”
Regarding Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chopra stated that the team will be searching for batters and that, with such a huge budget, they might choose Agarwal. In addition, the ex-cricketer anticipates that the India batter will go for eight to ten crores.
Akash Chopra concludes saying,
“Sunrisers once again will be in contention due to the massive purse that they have. I don’t see any quality batters there apart from Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram. They already have the bowling so they need to stack up their batting. Unless there’s a case where no bidding war happens, I expect Mayank to go for 8-10 crore in the auction,”
