IPL 2022: 1st match for new teams LSG and GT

IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants take on Gujarat Titans in their first IPL match.

RPSG group and CVC Capital outbid others to buy 2 new IPL teams Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans for the Tata IPL 2022 season.

The two teams will clash on 28th March in their first game of the IPL season.

KL Rahul is set to lead the Lucknow based franchise whereas, Hardik Pandya was selected as the captain of Gujarat Titans.

Lucknow Super Giants bought KL Rahul(17 crore), Marcus Stoinis(9.20 crore) and Ravi Bishnoi(4 crore) before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

They added some decent players in Manish Pandey, Quinton De Kock, Krunal Pandya, Avesh Khan, Jason Holder etc.

As for Gujarat Titans, they bought Hardik Pandya (15 crore), Rashid Khan(15 crore) and Shubhman Gill(7 crore) before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

They also added players like Jason Roy, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia etc.

Pitch Report

Match is going to be played at the Wankhede stadium.

Expect a similar surface to the one where KKR and CSK played. A slow surface that will aid the spinners.
