India win the 2nd T20I against West Indies

The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma have won their second T-Twenty International match against the West Indies side and have won the 3-match series 2-0 in the game at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The Indian side won the match by 8 runs in what was a thrilling last over to watch for the fans.

After losing the toss, India had to bat first and despite dropping a few quick wickets in the start, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, and Venkatesh Iyer helped the team to get to a good total for the bowlers to defend. The final target was set at 187 as India played the full 20 overs and made 186 at the loss of 5 wickets. The West Indies batting lineup looked motivated to go out on the pitch and chase the total as well. Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell almost completed the run chase as well as the former made 62 runs after which he got dismissed. However, Powell went for the win till the very end and scored two straight sixes in the last over which put the match in a very exciting position. In the end, Harshal Patel won the match for India in the end with a well-planned bowling display to dismiss any threats by the explosive batting display by Powell who ended up making 68 not out.

This series victory also marked a record sixth consecutive series win at home soil for the men in Blue as well which shows the dominance the Indian cricket team has showcased when playing at home.
