What is blind cricket tournament?
Since 2012, the World Cup has been run by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) in collaboration with the disability organisation Samarthanam Trust.
The Samarthanam Trust has arranged more than 30,000 visually impaired matches since its establishment.
Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the host nation, India, were competing in the 2022 World Cup.
What was the climax?
India defeated Bangladesh by 120 massive runs to secure their third T20 World Cup for the Blind.
How it all began?
India decided to bat first and that’s how it all started. In the tournament’s final match, Sunil Ramesh (136 not out off 63) and skipper Ajay Kumar Reddy (100 not out off 50) set a record 247-run partnership.
These 136 runs of Sunil included 24 boundaries and one six.
Salman’s twin blow in the fourth over sent shockwaves through India’s top order.
Venkareswara was eliminated with a score of just 28.In the same over, Salman castled Lalit Meena, dealing India a further setback and dropping them to 29/2.
After that, Ramesh and Reddy’s performance against the Bangladesh’s bowling attack was the main attraction.
The chase:
Bangladesh could only raise 157/3 in response to India’s massive score, falling short by 120 runs. Lalit Meena and Ajay Kumar each secured one wicket for India. Salman top-scored for Bangladesh with 77 not out.
