Gujarat Titans from the worst team to the best team in IPL
Gujarat Titans have been one of the best performers in this season of IPL. Their consistent all-round display in each and every department has been the story of the season. Being in its inaugural season, reaching the finals, and also then winning it would definitely mark a golden stamp in the history of IPL.
Gujarat has finished at the top of the table with 20 points. They won 10 games and lost 4 on the way. They eased their way into the finals after winning it by 7 wickets to spare against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 1.

Ahead of this significant game, Gujarat Titans batsman David Miller spoke on the fact that, at the start of the season, everyone commented that Gujarat is a strong team, but not title-contenders. Due to a lack of many star names, no one predicted that they will come so far in this tournament.
Miller explained his thoughts on this matter,
“It’s pretty evident that there have been a lot of guys who have contributed at a lot of stages throughout the competition. We had different MOTMs, and different guys stood up at different occasions. It’s the contribution that helps the team. We managed to win big moments in the games throughout the season. We won close games that we probably shouldn’t have won,” Miller told
“It’s all about managing those big moments, we’ve been pretty calm and gone about the business in a smooth way. As you (the interviewer) mentioned, a lot of people wrote us off and we were very aware of the fact that we were definitely the worst team in the IPL, that’s (what) everyone told us. So, it’s outstanding so far,” Miller further said.
Given the solid performance earlier in the season, everyone would now believe that they are the title contenders. They will be coming into this match as the favorites. Rajasthan Royals also had a pretty good IPL season, with the Orange cap and Purple cap both accumulated by their players, Jos Buttler and Y Chahal respectively. It will be a very good tough fight, and Gujarat will have a chance to prove them wrong, whoever thought that they are not one of the title contenders.
