FIFA World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals : Starring Kylian Mbappe In the second FIFA World Cup 2022 semifinal at the Al Bayt Stadium, France defeated Morocco, which was led by Achraf Hakimi, 2-0. In the championship game, France will take against Argentina.
In the second FIFA World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals on Thursday, defending champions France overwhelmed the historically significant Morocco team. Didier Deschamps’ France defeated Morocco 2-0 at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Qatar to clinch its second consecutive spot in the championship game of the FIFA World Cup.
Theo Hernandez, a defender, scored France’s first goal of the Qatar World Cup in the fifth minute of play. The reigning champions of France extended their lead in the second half by scoring a second goal, ending Morocco’s unbeaten streak on the biggest stage. In the FIFA World Cup 2022 final on Sunday, France, headed by Kylian Mbappe, will take on Lionel Messi and Argentina.
Hugo Lloris made a fine save in the ninth minute of play to stop Azzedine Ounahi’s 25-meter shot. After a beautiful breakaway from Morocco’s box, Hakim Ziyech missed his shot in the fifteenth minute.
When France finally had an opportunity to counter, Olivier Giroud sent a shot just wide of the left upright for Morocco.
With 30 minutes remaining, Morocco enjoyed another strong period of possession in front of France’s goal, but once again Walid Regragui’s team was unable to get past France’s defence. Even Ziyech’s frantic back-and-forth probing run was fruitless with seven blue shirts at one time confined to their own box.
Just before halftime, Jawad El-Yamiq received a fantastic corner kick from Ziyech. El-Yamiq jumped into the air with his back to the goal and connected with a magnificent overhead bicycle kick, forcing Lloris to palm the shot onto the post.
Another corner for Ziyech came two minutes later. Lloris handled this with ease, but the Moroccans felt like they were making progress. The French sensed that they were getting under their skin and immediately conceded two free kicks that were close to the goal. At halftime, Morocco’s Atlas Lions were shouting while France held the lead.
