Dinesh Karthik Praise On R Ashwin, Says “Should Be Spoken In The Same Breath As Kapil Dev”
Dinesh Karthik wants Ravichandran Ashwin and India’s World-Cup winning legendry captain Kapil Dev to be spoken of in the same breath. The wicketkeeper-batter stated they are two of the greatest Indian all-rounders and deserve the same honor.
Ravichandran Ashwin has made his impression during the IND vs NZ 1st Test, and Dinesh Karthik thinks that the off-spinner is one of the most precise cricketers to have represented the country. Karthik considers that Ashwin should be considered in the same breath as Kapil Dev.

Karthik’s remarks came after Ashwin trapped three wickets in the first innings to advance to 417 Test wickets, joint third-highest with Harbhajan Singh, and two important knocks of 38 and 32, individually, in difficult conditions.
“Obviously, I don’t think I am in a place to judge both of them, but I must admit that they should be spoken of in the same breath when it comes to Indian cricket because both of them have been match-winners, have been exemplary, and have been definitely the two best all-rounders to have come out of this soil for a long, long time,” quipped Karthik while speaking in a show.
“You have to put him there with the number of Man of the Series he has won, the accolades he has got obviously. Getting 417 wickets in 80 Tests is an unbelievable record to have and the fact that he’s contributed and scored five hundred, much more than a lot of the batters who play for a longer period of time in Test matches. Some people have played 30-35 Tests, and still haven’t managed five hundred,” Karthik added.
On Day 5, Ashwin moved past Harbhajan Singh to grow as the country’s third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. Ashwin took the wicket of Tom Latham (52) on an ongoing Day 5 of the first Test against New Zealand and therefore he performed this achievement.
