Deepak Hooda helps India get a comfortable win vs Derbyshire
While all the focus was on the 5th Test Match between India and England, Deepak Hooda and co secured an easy win over Derbyshire in a T20 match.
Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav stitched a 78 run third wicket partnership to help India chase down 151 with 20 balls to spare.

Dinesh Karthik led India in the first warm-up game against Derbyshire, yesterday. He won the toss and asked the home team to bat first.

First Innings (Derbyshire Batting)
Dinesh Karthik decided to open the innings with spin and it paid dividends right away. Opener Luis Reece holed out to Umran Malik as Axar Patel picked up the first wicket of the innings in the first over itself.
Skipper Shaan Masood didn’t last long either, as he was dismissed for 8(11) by impressive left arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh. Umran Malik too, joined the party, as he picked up Leus Du Plooy in the first over, to have Derbyshire 3 down at the end of the powerplay.
Derbyshire kept losing wickets at regular intervals, as they ended up with 150/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Both Arshdeep and Umran picked up 2 wickets each, while Axar Patel and Venkatesh Iyer picked up a wicket each.
Second Innings (India Batting)
With a mediocre target of 151 to be chased, Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the batting alongside Sanju Samson.
But, Gaikwad stay at the crease lasted only 6 balls. India were 5/1 after 1.
Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson put on 51 runs, before the latter was out caught by Leus Du Plooy. India were 5/2 after 8 overs.
The partnership between Hooda and SKY made sure that India would go on to win. Hooda followed his maiden century against Ireland with a well paced 59(37) to guide India to a comfortable win.
The men in Blue chased down 151 within 17 overs.
Second warm-up T20 match between the two, will be played on Sunday.
