Deepak Chahar will miss half of 2022 IPL due to injury
As a result of a right quadriceps injury suffered during the third and final T20 match against the West Indies in Kolkata, Chennai Super Kings batsman Deepak Chahar will miss the first half of the 2022 Indian Premier League. Chahar is supposed to remain sidelined for eight weeks.
“This indicates he will miss half of IPL 2022.” The pacer remains in rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, but CSK is waiting for the final report before the IPL 2022 begins on March 26.
Chahar cost CSK Rs 14 crore, making it the second most expensive purchase in this year’s IPL auction.
The 29-year-old suffered a right quadriceps injury in the last T20 against the West Indies in Kolkata on February 20 and was subsequently ruled out of India’s three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, which India won 3-0.
So far in his brief international career, Chahar has taken 10 and 26 wickets in seven ODIs and 20 T20 matches.
Chahar, who bats down the order, has made significant contributions for India, scoring two fifties in one-day internationals, with his best performance being 69 not out.
From March 26 to May 29, the IPL 2022 will take place in various parts of the country.
