Captain Karthik says the team has lost matches due to missing crucial Super Points

On Tuesday, the Kochi Blue Spikers will face the Ahmedabad Defenders in the RuPay Prime Volleyball League’s 20th match at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

Kochi Blue Spikers Captain Karthik remarked before of their encounter against the Defenders, “Our final two league games are crucial for us. We must ensure that we perform well and that we win the games. We’ve been putting in a lot of work in preparation for the games. We have a chance to go to the Semi-Finals, but we’ll take it one match at a time. The team is in a good mood, and we’ll make sure to give it our best in our last two league games.”

When asked what areas of the squad need to improve, the Middle Blocker responded, “We’ve been missing a few key Super Points, and it’s cost us games. There have been moments when we have built up a good lead only to surrender it at a critical point. The coaches and management are aware of this, and we will make every effort to maintain our advantage in the future matches.”

peaking ahead of their match against Kochi, Ahmedabad Defenders’ Manoj LM said, “We are really happy to reach the Semi-Finals. We are focussing on winning our match against Kochi Blue Spikers now. We are not worried about whom we meet in the Semis, we will give our best in the match. We are coordinating really well on the court, and everyone has been supporting each other throughout the tournament.”

The Defenders have registered four wins in five matches in the tournament so far. When asked about the reasons behind their success, Manoj said, “Our coaches have done a great job. Their efforts have helped us perform very well in this tournament. Both the Head Coaches – Dakshinamoorthy sir & Sajad sir have been great pillars for the team this season. The owners and the management of the team have also provided great support to the players and because of that the players have trust and belief in themselves.”

The Ahmedabad Defenders will be up against Kochi Blue Spikers at 1850 hrs on Tuesday, 22 February 2022.
