BCCI are going to discuss plans for starting Women’s IPL
India’s governing council of cricket, BCCI is set to discuss about the forming of a women’s IPL in a meet.
BCCI has the formation of the Women’s IPL on its agenda. This will be discussed in detail when the governing council meets on Friday in Mumbai.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly along with secretary Jay Shah have said before, they want to create a Women’s IPL.
“The matter will be discussed in the governing council and a plan of action will be decided,” a BCCI official said.
Finally this is to be discussed in the upcoming meeting.
Which foreign players can participate, number of teams etc is set to be discussed and planned.
Women’s IPL is only the third league for women’s cricket in the world.
The other two leagues are Australia’s Women’s Big Bash League and England’s Women’s Hundred.
Currently, women cricketers are representing their respective countries at the ICC Women’s World Cup.
