BCCI announces Indian Women’s squad for Commonwealth Games
CWG 2022: BCCI has revealed the list of players that have made the Indian women’s cricket squad for the upcoming games in the CWG in England.
Harmanpreet Kaur has been named as the Captain and will be helped by Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the team.
India will face 2022 World Cup Champions Australia in the 1st game of the CWG on 29th of July at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Next, India face arch-rivals, Pakistan on 31st July, at the same venue. Lastly, India will face Barbados in the final group game on 3rd August.
All the matches at CWG 2022 Cricket will be played in T20I format.
Team India squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, S. Meghana, Taniyaa Sapna Bhatia (Wk), Yastika Bhatia (Wk), Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Harleen Deol, Sneh Rana.
The Indian team is coming off of a dominating whitewash in the 50 over format against Sri Lanka. This is after they won the T20I series 2-1. Momentum is with the women in blue and we can hope they grab a Gold Medal for India at the CWG 2022.
