Babar Azam and Co show great character to earn a draw

Australia finally break the commendable partnership between Abdullah Shsfique and Babar Azam. Pat Cummins dismissed the former to put Australia back on top.

The pair added to their overnight score and Abdullah Shafique was destined to score a century, but Pat Cummins and Australia had other plans. He narrowly missed out on a well deserved century.

With the fall off that wicket, Australia would have liked to use the momentum and get another break through, preferably Babar Azam who was playing a gem of an innings to keep them at bay.

At lunch, Pakistan were 254 – 3 with them needing 252 runs in 62 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

Australia took another wicket but Babar Azam stood firm.

150 up for Babar. A true captains innings

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan put up a century stand for Pakistan.

Babar Azam also became the 4th player ever to play more than 400 balls in the fourth innings of a test match.

Babar Azams resistance was finally broken as he was dismissed by Nathan Lyon. The Aussie offie went on to take two in two to put Rajasthan on the backfoot.

A beautiful innings from the Pakistan captain came to an end. He came agonizingly close to make a double century, falling just 4 runs short.

After the successive dismissals, Mohammad Rizwan took the onus on himself to grab a draw. He was successful in doing so as the match ended with Pakistan being 443-7. In the process Mohammad Rizwan scored his 2nd century in International Test cricket.

A credible performance from Babar Azam and his men as they snatch a victory from the hands of the Aussies.

Many questions would be raised for the Pat Cummins decision of not giving Pakistan the follow on.

A great end to a terrific test match as both teams settled for a draw at the end.
