Liverpool beat Arsenal thanks to goals from Jota and Firmino

Liverpool took all the 3 points from their match against Arsenal on Wednesday. Goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino guided the Reds to a crucial away win.

Liverpool leftback Andy Robertson was the star of the match. He defended very well making clearances, getting the ball up the pitch and also got an assist to show for.

Diogo Jota who was sidelined for sometime scored with his last touch before being subbed off.

Some would call it a mistake by Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsale as he was beaten at the nearpost. Nevertheless it was a welcomed lead for Liverpool as they were not up to the mark in the first half.

Roberto Firmino who was subbed on for Diogo Jota scored in the next few minutes when he cheekily touched the ball home from an Andrew Robertson cross.

All in all a good match between two heavyweights of the league. Arsenal put a firm test, but Liverpool players were up for it.

Gabriel Martinelli had the upper hand on Trent Alexander all night long, but could not produce a telling pass or a finish.

The only big chance that Arsenal had was when Thiago set Lacazette through with a backpass, but Allison was there to spare his blushes.

The victory was the 100th away win for Jurgen Klopp since he took over as a manager for Liverpool.

This was also their 9th consecutive win in the Premier League. As a result, the difference at the top of the table to Manchester City is just 1 point.

Andy Robertsons assist for Roberto Firmino was his 50th assist for Liverpool.

Liverpool now take on Nottingham Forrest on Sunday in an FA Cup 5th round. Whereas Arsenal visit Villa Park to face a resurgent Aston Villa side on Saturday.
