Avesh Khan gives credit to IPL for India’s selection
West Indies is all set to visit India for the ODI and the T20 series. The series will be held in two venues. The series will start on 6th February 2022.
The three-match ODI series will be played in Ahmedabad at Narendra Modi Stadium. While the T20 series will be played in Kolkata at Eden Gardens Stadium.
Rohit Sharma who missed the series against South Africa is now recovered from the injury and will join the squad. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian side for the first time as full-time captain.
Avesh Khan has earned a call to play for Indian team for the series against West Indies.
The journey started in 2016, Avesh Khan was the India’s leading wicket taker in the U19 world Cup. He took 12 wickets from 6 matches at an average of 15.08.
In 2017 Royal Challengers Bangalore picked Avesh Khan. He made his T20 debut under RCB. In 2018 he was grabbed by Delhi for Rs 75 lakh. In 2021 things started to turn for Avesh Khan as he took 24 wickets from 16 matches. He was the second highest wicket taker in the IPL tournament. Avesh Khan said that Pant always guided him from behind the stumps.
“IPL helped me a lot because I played all the matches last season. I played 16 matches. The last 2 years I was getting to play were few games and I wasn’t able to show my talent” he said.
Having been selected for the Indian team for the West Indies series, Avesh Khan credited IPL for his selection. With Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami being rested for the series against West Indies Avesh Khan can fill their places.
Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar will lead the fast-Bowling department. Mohammed Siraj Prasidh Krishna and Avesh Khan will accompany them.
Delhi capitals did not retain the second highest wicket taker Avesh Khan. He has drawn into the auction pool.
