Australian Federal Court upholds decision to cancel Novak Djokovic’s visa
An Australian Federal Court panel has dismissed Djokovic’s appeal after he challenged Immigration Minister Alex Hawke’s decision to cancel his visa. The court panel returned their unanimous decision just a day before the World No. 1 was set to play his first match of the Australian Open. Djokovic has now been deported and will not compete in the tournament. In a statement released on Sunday evening, Djokovic said he is “extremely disappointed” by the ruling but will “cooperate with the relevant authorities” regarding his departure from Australia.
