Australia releases their Playing XI for World Test Championship’23!

Australia releases their Playing XI for World Test Championship’23 : Australia has selected its starting lineup for the first Test match against South Africa, which gets off on Saturday in Brisbane.

The news that captain Pat Cummins will be able to participate despite recuperating from a quad injury is encouraging for the home team. Cummins announced the news as he announced the rest of the starting lineup the day before the match.

Steve Smith, who led the team in the second Test against the West Indies in Cummins’ absence, relinquishes the captaincy to the fast bowler.

Josh Hazlewood‘s side issue has already caused him to be sidelined, thus Scott Boland holds his place in the side. The player who will make room for the Australia captain is Michael Neser.

Usman Khawaja and David Warner start the innings, followed by Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith, the No. 1 and No. 2 MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Test hitters, respectively.

While Alex Carey, the wicketkeeper, keeps his position, Travis Head and Cameron Green move up to Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.

Although the tourists have history against them, having gone winless there in four attempts in the longest format, early assessments of this week’s Brisbane ground suggest both world-class speed assaults should like the conditions. The World Test Championship includes the Test series, with Australia and South Africa holding the top two spots with 75 and 60 percent of the potential points, respectively.

First Test: December 17–21 at Brisbane’s, The Gabba
Second Test: December 26–30, MCG, Melbourne
Third Test: January 4–8, SCG, Sydney
