India’s bowlers led by Bumrah breathe fire as England slide to 84/5 on Day 2
Day 2: India firmly on top after another excellent outing vs England. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami starred today for the visitors.
Ind vs Eng: Captain Jasprit Bumrah smashed Stuart Broad for 35 runs in an over, before coming out and picking up 3 wickets.
India in a dominant position with England reeling on 84/5, trailing by 332 runs at the end of day 2.
Thanks to the 222 run partnership between Sir Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant, India started day 2 at 338/7.
In the first session itself, Jadeja got himself a well deserved ton. He ended up getting 104(194) before being castled by Enlgand’s main man, James Anderson.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami added valuable runs as India finished with 416 runs on the board.
Rain interupted the play a lot today, with only 27 overs being bowled by the Indian team.
But, India capitalized play time to their fullest.
After taking Stuart Broad to the cleaners, Jasprit Bumrah managed to pick up 3 wickets, ripping through the English top-order.
Mohammed Shami too bowled the perfect line and length, and as a result, the English batsmen could just not get going.
He came back to pick up the wicket of the night watchman, Jack Leach.
Mohammed Siraj bowled just 3 overs but, managed to pick up the prized wicket of Joe Root.
India assert dominance on day 2 as they inch closer towards a historic test series win.
