BCCI vs PCB: ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Faces Potential Venue
Yash Dhull began his Ranji Trophy career with a century on his debut.
Yash Dhull, the captain of India’s U-19 World Cup-winning side, has extended his purple patch and begun his Ranji Trophy career with a century for the Delhi state team. Dhull surpassed the three-figure mark off 133 balls in his maiden red-ball game.
The right-handed batter was assigned the difficult task of opening the innings. Sandeep Warrier, a captained Tamil Nadu bowler, put Delhi on the back foot early in the morning session, dismissing opener Dhruv Shorey and Himmat Singh, leaving the side reeling at 7/2 after three overs.
Dhull came to the rescue for Delhi, adding a vital 60 runs for the third wicket with experienced batsman Nitish Rana. After the third wicket fell, Dhull kept the clock ticking and has so far accumulated over 100 runs for the fourth wicket with Jonty Sidhu. Dhull’s spectacular knock has 16* fours. The U-19 World Cup-winning skipper has had an excellent start to his first-class career and will be hoping to maintain his success in the coming games.
The Ranji Trophy will be played in two stages this year. The opening batter won’t have much time to recover because he’ll be joining the Delhi Capitals’ camp after the first phase, which concludes on March 15. The second phase will begin on May 30. The IPL 2022 season is scheduled to run from the final week of March to the end of May.
Dhull has signed a one-year contract with his hometown side, the Delhi Capitals (DC), for a fee of Rs 50 lakhs. Aside from DC, he had offers from Punjab Kings. Dhull has attended DC’s academy.
