West Ham defender Kurt Zouma issues apology after video of him kicking his cat goes viral
Premier League defender Kurt Zouma has said that he is ‘deeply sorry’ after a video of him slapping and kicking his cat has circulated on social media this morning. The West Ham defender was seen kicking his cat in his house and chasing it for some time. The 27-year-old defender’s brother had posted the video on Snapchat which caused the whole world to criticize and protest against the disturbing images they saw. This happens after just one day of West Ham’s FA Cup win against Kidderminster.
The French defender apologized in an interview where he said “I want to apologize for my actions. There are no excuses for my behaviour, which I sincerely regret,” Zouma told The Sun.
“I want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy,”
“They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again,”
Meanwhile, West ham have also issued a statement regarding the situation and have decided to solve the matter internally. The club said “West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has circulated. We have spoken to Kurt and will be dealing with the matter internally, but we would like to make it clear that we in no way condone cruelty towards animals,”
