Warriors are a win away from a spot in the NBA Finals
Golden State Warriors win again, to take a 3-0 lead against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Western Conference finals.
Despite Luka Doncic’s best of efforts, the Mavericks fell short by 9 points, again. Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins starred for the Golden State Warriors.
In the first quarter, the game was close, with the GSW narrowly edging out the Mavs. A 3 point lead for the Golden State Warriors, with the score reading 25-22.
But, the Mavs did not let the Warriors run away, managing to outscore their opponents 25-23 to finish the first half 1 point behind their counterparts.
At half time, the scoreboard read 48-47 in favor of the Warriors.
Fortunately, in the 3rd quarter, the Warriors were able to extend their lead to 10 points.
Wiggins, who scored a career high of 27 points, helped GSW dominate the 3rd quarter, 30-21.
Doncic, tried to do all he can to bring Mavs back into the game but, it was too late as GSW led by 5 with 1:15 on the clock.
The 23 year old star scored 40 points but, it was not enough to take the Mavericks over the line.
Jordan Poole netted a 3 pointer in the final minute of the game, to take the lead to 8 points as the Warriors ended up beating the Mavericks, again.
The scoreboard read 109-100 in favor of the Warriors.
Wiggins was the player of the game, scoring 27 points, that included 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Curry
They are on the verge of becoming the Western Conference Champions and compete in the NBA Finals, for the first time since 2019. They also have a shot at a sweep .i.e. win the series within 4 matches, without a loss.
