Vishnu Solanki joins the squad days after the loss of her daughter
In a Ranji Trophy match on Friday, Vishnu Solanki, a Baroda batter who just lost his infant, overcame adversity to strike a gallant century against Chandigarh in a Ranji Trophy 2022 match in Bhubaneswar. Baroda finished Day 2 with a score of 398 for 7, putting them 230 runs ahead of Chandigarh, who were dismissed for 168 in their first innings.
Solanki, who batted at No. 5 off 161 deliveries, made an undefeated 103. His brave century included 12 boundaries, and the Baroda batsman was well supported by opener Jyotsnil Singh. As Baroda controlled Chandigarh’s bowling assault, Jyotsnil hit a fast-paced 96 before getting run out.
When Solanki heard the bad news, he was in Bhubaneswar with his Baroda squad. He subsequently travelled back to Vadodara to attend his daughter’s funeral. He did, however, fly back to Bhubaneswar three days later.
Sheldon Jackson, the wicketkeeper and batter for Saurashtra, praised Solanki for overcoming his personal sorrow to achieve a century in the Ranji Trophy match. What a performer. He’s without a doubt the toughest player I’ve ever seen. Vishnu and his family deserve a standing ovation; this is not an easy task. Many more hundreds and many successes to you, “Jackson sent out a tweet.
This is the story of a cricketer who recently lost his baby daughter. Following the funeral, he returns to represent his team to get a hundred. Vishnoo Solanki is a great hero in my view, even though his name doesn’t get many “likes” on social media. A source of inspiration, “Shiri Hattangadi, the CEO of the Baroda Cricket Association, also took to Twitter.
