BCCI vs PCB: ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Faces Potential Venue
Virat Kohli would not be re-appointed as RCB captain: Daniel Vettori
With less than three weeks until the Indian Premier League 2022 season begins, all eyes are on Royal Challengers Bangalore, (RCB)the only team that has yet to name a captain. RCB remained tight-lipped even when new clubs, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, confirmed their captains’ days before the auction.
According to rumors, Glenn Maxwell or Faf du Plessis might be considered for the post that Virat Kohli would leave at the end of the 2021 IPL season. Fans, on the other hand, are holding out hope that Kohli will return as captain.
When he stepped down as RCB captain, the famed Indian batsman emphasized the importance of some space and proper workload management. Last month, Kohli told the franchise that his decision was not shocking and that he was convinced that he intended to move on.
Kohli not only quit as T20I captain but was also ousted as ODI captain before stepping down as Test captain, so a lot has happened since last year’s T20 World Cup.
In stepping down from the captaincy, Virat Kohli made the right decision, according to Daniel Vettori.
“No (Kohli will not be captain again). I suppose that’s all there is to it. That, in my opinion, never works in the franchise or international cricket. Now that the captain has done so, it’s time to move on,” Vettori told ESPNCricinfo.
