Speaking to the media, Venkatesh Iyer expressed his readiness to lead KKR if given the opportunity. “I had the privilege of captaining the team briefly when Nitish Rana was injured, and I also served as vice-captain. I believe leadership is about fostering an environment where every player feels valued and ready to contribute,” Iyer stated.

He added, “If entrusted with the captaincy, I would be honored to step into Shreyas Iyer’s shoes. Together, we will aim to defend our championship and build on our winning legacy. Thank you for trusting me and making me part of this incredible team.”
