Twitter reaction as Jhulan Goswami makes history in Women’s World Cup

On Saturday, India’s Jhulan Goswami has become the ICC Women’s World Cup‘s all-time leading wicket-taker. Jhulan accomplished the feat during India’s victory over the West Indies in the tournament’s third match at Seddon Park. She ejected Anisa Mohammed, marking her 40th dismissal in the Women’s World Cup. The 39-year-old former Australia cricketer Lyn Fullston, who had taken 39 wickets in Women’s World Cups, was surpassed by the 39-year-old. Fans congratulated the veteran pacer on her accomplishments on Twitter on Saturday.

Jhulan Goswami’s historic achievement evoked the following reactions on Twitter:

“What an incredible achievement for @JhulanG10, who has now taken the most wickets in the @cricketworldcup. It’s up to 40 wickets, and it’s not over yet!! Lisa Sthalekar, a former Australian cricketer, took to Twitter to express her joy.

Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jhulan Goswami, Sneh Raha, Meghana Singh, for the Women in Blue, it’s all come together beautifully today! I’m rooting for you, “Sanjana Ganesan wrote a caption for a tweet.

Another user wrote, “My favourite moment from this World Cup is Jhulan Goswami becoming the leading wicket-taker in ODI World Cups.”

Jhulan Goswami becomes the ICC CWC’s leading wicket-taker with 40 wickets.

India won by 155 runs over the West Indies, giving them their second win of the tournament. On March 16, they play England Women at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
