Tottenham signs Juventus duo Kulusevksi and Bentancur
Tottenham Hotspur are desperate to get some kind of recruitment in the club in order to improve the squad and match performances as demanded by their new manager Antonio Conte. They have already been put off by the chance of signing Wolverhampton Wanderer’s Adama Traore hijacked by Barcelona, technical director Fabio Paratici has little time to get in quality recruitments from anywhere.
However, the club have finally signed Tottenham duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus Football club. The former has been signed for a fee of €40m plus add ons – including loan fee and buy clause that could become mandatory in case of UCL qualification/certain number of appearances. Kulusevski had joined Juventus football club after he impressed everyone and had an excellent season with Parma. The talented Swedish had scored ten goals alongside eight assists in 36 Serie A appearances. He played a variety of roles during the 2020/21 campaign, featuring out wide or as a support striker to the former Juve forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Sweden international has made just five league starts this season under new manager Massimiliano Allegri and would provide added competition in the wing positions for Antonio Conte’s side.
Rodrigo Bentancur on the other hand has been signed for a fee of €19 million plus €6 million add ons. Juventus were looking to offload some players first in order to bring some new recruitment into the club. They have already had talks with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria for a permanent move. Now that they have already done two deals to offload players, they will be looking to complete that deal as soon as they can.
Liverpool have also done some business in this January transfer window. They have acquired Porto’s Colombian winger Luis Diaz on a permanent move. Both the clubs had agreed on a fee of €40 million guaranteed fee upfront plus €20 million add ons. Jurgen Klopp had been impressed by the Colombian and wanted him in his squad.
