Jasprit Bumrah’s Workload Debate: Balwinder Singh Sandhu Criticizes Modern “Workload

There is nothing to be surprised about: Virat Kohli
The captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli, explains his decision to resign after the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, saying it was a simple and straightforward call for him because he needed some space and time to manage his workload.
Cricketers’ decisions may be confusing to people outside the game and Kohli dismissed speculation that surrounded his decision. Midway through the second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE, Kohli chose to step down as RCB captain.
After being fired as the India ODI captain and resigning as the T20I captain, the RCB player resigned as the T20I captain last year. Kohli resigned as India’s Test captain earlier this year after the Asian giants were defeated 1-2 in a three-match series in South Africa.
Kohli remarked on “The RCB Podcast” that he doesn’t hoard things more than necessary. I won’t do more if I am not enjoying it.” “I’ll do more even if I’m capable of doing more if it’s enjoyable.” He continued.
Nothing should come as a surprise. I tell them that I needed some space and time to handle my workload, and the tale ends there.”
Kohli put an end to any speculation regarding his choice by declaring, “There was, in reality, nothing”.I keep my life simple and plain; when I needed to arrange anything, I did so and stated it.
It didn’t seem like something worth thinking about for another year. That would have had no effect on me or the environment in which I live. I place a great deal of importance on quality of life. I am also very concerned about the standard of cricket.
However, at some point, you must recognise that quality is far more essential than number,” Kohli explained.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have yet to name their new captain for the IPL 2022 season. While all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is considered a frontrunner for the position, their recruit Faf du Plessis, who has previously led South Africa, is also being considered.
Kohli’s tenure as RCB captain came to an end after nearly a decade of leading the team in 132 matches. The star batter, however, was unable to lead the team to an IPL title.
Kohli was retained by RCB for Rs 15 crore ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, even though the star batter has stated that he will not want to play for the Bengaluru-based franchise until he has played in the cash-rich T20 tournament.
