The winner of the ICC Women’s World Cup will get USD 1.32 million.

This year’s ICC women’s World Cup in New Zealand will award its winners a cash prize of USD 1.32 million, which is double the amount that was awarded to the winners of 2017’s edition in England. The total prize money pool has also increased by 75%, with the eight teams receiving a share of USD 3.5 million, which is USD 1.5 million more than the previous edition, according to the ICC on Tuesday. The runners-up will receive USD 600,000, which is USD 270,000 more than India received for placing second in 2017.

As part of the new prize package, the two losing semifinalists will receive USD 300,000 each while the four teams who exit at the group stage will receive USD 70,000. The previous prize was USD 30,000. Every group stage victory will also award the teams USD 25,000 from a total pool of USD 700,000

This is an increase in prize money for consecutive editions of the Women’s Cricket World Cup. The prize money increased tenfold between the 2013 and 2017 editions, rising from USD 200,000 to USD 2 million.

England, who were declared champions on their own soil, received USD 660,000 after defeating India by nine runs to win their fourth title.

Each team will play each other once in a round-robin format during the 2022 edition. The four teams with the most points will proceed to the semifinals. A win will earn them two points, while a draw, a tie, or a no-result will earn them one point.The matches will be contested at six different locations, with the tournament opening taking place on March 4 at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui between hosts New Zealand and West Indies.

The final will be held on April 3 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
