The sports world mourns the death of famous singer-composer Bappi Lahiri

India woke up to tragic news that shocked them. Bappi Lahiri, one of the country’s top singers and songwriters, died at the age of 69 after a long illness. The iconic singer, who was famed for his synthetic disco sounds, died Friday night in a Mumbai hospital while undergoing treatment.

The news of Bappi Lahiri’s death comes as a shock, especially as the country was still mourning the loss of the famous Lata Mangeshkar. OSA was discovered as the cause of Bappi Lahiri’s death (obstructive sleep apnea) and recurring chest infections. Because of his illness, he was hospitalized at a Juhu hospital for 29 days. On February 15, he was released and went home, but his condition quickly deteriorated.

Bappi Da was returned to Criticare Hospital, but he died at 11:45 p.m. It’s also worth noting that Bappi Lahiri contracted Covid-19 last year. The hospital also published a statement, providing details on Lahiri’s health problems.

“He had OSA for the previous year.” He was hospitalised to Criticare Hospital on many occasions for treatment by Dr. Deepak Namjoshi and recovered on each occasion,” according to the hospital’s official statement.

Bappi Lahiri commanded the music business for many years, writing songs such as I Am a Disco Dancer, Raat Baaki, Pag Ghoongroo, Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost, Naino Main Sapna, TaakiTaaki, Humko Aaj Kal Hain Intezaar, Tamma Tamma, and others.
