IPL 2022: The enigmatic Shivam Dube showed his powerhitting skills against RCB on Tuesday.

Shivam Dube’s blitz innings of 95* runs off 46 balls slammed 5 fours and 8 sixes. Uthappa and Dube crafted a partnership of massive 165 runs in just 74 balls .

Dube’s fantastic knock helped Chennai post 216 for four in 20 overs, setting a target of 217 runs. With his power-hitting skills on full display, Dube also smashed a 102-meter six in the final over. Receiving a poor delivery from Josh Hazlewood in the first delivery of the 20th over, Dube effortlessly skied it over long-on for a massive maximum.

Shivam Dube missed the ton by just 5 runs while his batting partner Robin Uttappa also narrowly missed out a century for CSK as he scored 88 runs off 50 balls.

Dube was bought by CSK for Rs 4 crore at the mega auction ahead of the ongoing season, at a base price of Rs 50 lakhs. He represented RR last season, having joined them for Rs 4.40 crore.

In the ongoing season, Dube has proved to be a crucial part of the CSK unit. In 28 IPL matches, he has registered 511 runs and taken four wickets.

Meanwhile, as he was walking back to the pavilion along with the former captain MS Dhoni after the innings, he received a standing ovation from the Chennai Super Kings’ squad. It was a beautiful gesture from the team as they applauded the young talent for his amazing performance.

I tried to maintain by balance. Yuvi pa is always a role model for a left-hander. Many people told me that I bat like him. As the situation demands, as the captain and coach tell me, I am ready to bat anywhere” HE SAID
