The Rajya Sabha congratulates India’s U-19 squad on their World Cup victory.

Both England and India enter the final of the ongoing tournament unbeaten. Despite some members being impacted by COVID-19 during the competition, Captain Yash Dhull and Co. advanced to the final with clinical victory against South Africa, Ireland, Uganda, Bangladesh, and Australia.

India, led by Yash Dhull, defeated England by four wickets in the final on Sunday at Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards Stadium to claim a record-extending fifth championship.

The Rajya Sabha praised the Indian team on Tuesday for winning the Under 19 World Cup for the fifth time in a row by defeating England in the West Indies. As soon as the proceedings in the House began in the morning, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu mentioned the Indian team’s performance, saying that the young players had made the entire country proud with their fantastic performance. He stated, “I applaud the whole team on behalf of the House.”

Despite the adverse conditions of Covid-19, Naidu believes that the position he has earned through consistent hard work and exceptional commitment would encourage the country’s future players. The players were encouraged by the remembers by beating the table. India dominated the Under-19 World Cup event, winning the trophy for the fifth time by defeating England by four wickets in the final match on Saturday at Antigua’s North Sound. India’s triumph is especially noteworthy because its campaign was nearly wrecked at one point due to incidents of covid-19 among the team.
