The BCCI will plan to resume C K Nayudu Trophy, LOC for World Cup 2023, and team sponsor contract
When the BCCI Apex Council meets virtually on March 2, the fate of the CK Nayudu Trophy and Senior Women’s T20, which were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be decided, and the Local Organising Committee for the 2023 ODI World Cup is likely to be formed.
Due to an increase in Covid-19 cases, the CK Nayudu Trophy for U-25 cricketers and the Women’s Senior T20 event had to be postponed last month.
The Ranji Trophy was also postponed, but with the caseload easing, the BCCI decided to hold the premier domestic event on February 17. On Sunday, the first round was completed.
The meeting’s 14-point agenda includes the organisation of these two domestic events as the COVID-19 situation improves across the country.
The formation of the LOC for the 2023 ODI World Cup is also on the agenda, according to PTI. Due to the pandemic, India was unable to host the T20 World Cup last year, but the BCCI is looking forward to hosting another major ICC event next year.
Following Dhiraj Malhotra’s departure from the role last month, the appointment of GM – Game Development will also be finalised.
Start-up in education Byju’s contract as the Indian cricket team’s sponsor expires on March 31, and there will be a discussion about that as well. In July 2019, Byju’s took over as team sponsor from Oppo.
The schedule for the five-match T20 series against South Africa in June will also be finalised.
The central contracts of men and women cricketers will be ratified, as will the BCCI’s first-of-its-kind sexual harassment policy.
The increase in state association hosting fees is also on the agenda, as is the appointment of a Sports Science director at the National Cricket Academy.
The order passed in the case of Purvanchal Cricket Association’s representation will also be ratified.
