Tendulkar is unhappy with misleading social media ads.
Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian cricketer, took to social media on Thursday to dismiss advertisements on social media that have “morphed images” of him endorsing a casino as fake, saying when he sees people being misled by him in the country, he is deeply hurt.
Even during his heyday, Sachin Tendulkar, who was known for his spotless image, did not personally endorse tobacco or alcohol brands. Tendulkar reiterated his stance on the issue and urged people to be wary of fake advertisements that circulate on social media.
Multiple advertisements featuring morphed photos of me endorsing casinos have appeared on social media platforms.
I have never directly or indirectly endorsed gambling, tobacco, or alcohol in my individual capacity.” Tendulkar said on social media. I find it painful to see my images used to mislead the public.
While my legal team will take the necessary action, “I felt it was important for me to share this information with everyone.”
Tendulkar, who played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and a single T20I for India during his decorated 25-year international career, issued the statement on the 12th anniversary of his historic double century against South Africa in Gwalior.
